How can we remove subconscious blockages which are holding us back in life? After all, they’re subconscious – under the surface of the conscious awareness. It can be worth employing the services of a hypnotist or life coach to help uncover some of the reasons why you’re making life more difficult than it needs to be.
But since you’ve realised that you have some unconscious patterns which aren’t serving you, you can remove subconscious blockages by shining the light of awareness on them. To do this, you need to bring them to the surface of your awareness. This might not completely remove the blockages at first. But it will at least shift your awareness of the problem and help you move through any limiting ideas and beliefs lurking in your unconscious mind.
Remove Subconscious Blockages – Ideas
The ideas you have picked up from childhood are some of the strongest “cornerstones” of your belief system. Before you were even 10 years old, you will have received a lot of information from your environment and the people in it.
At this age, you didn’t have a conscious filter which critiqued the constant absorbing of information. As such, some of it will be embedded in your belief system. If these ideas are limiting, you might start experiencing problems in life which relate to these ideas.
Some of the most common limiting beliefs relate to money. We all received information pertaining to money, cash, income and self worth. If we received positive information around these topics, we’re more likely to thrive in life. With a negative self image, or negative thoughts and feelings around money, income, wealth and prosperity, we are more likely to limit those aspects in our lives.
Making The Unconscious Conscious
Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will control your life and you will call it fate – Carl Jung.
So one way to make the unconscious conscious is to look back at your most important relationships: usually this is mother and father and your siblings. Those relationships were usually made in the early stages of development when your conscious reasoning facilities were pretty much turned off. How you related to your parents is the groundwork for how you relate to the world.
As a child, you do anything to keep your parents happy. It’s part of the survival mechanism. We want to please our parents so we take on board their belief systems to help us survive. So think for a minute how your parents felt and dealt with money, love, passion and how they expressed emotions.
How did they earn money and what were their expectations for you?
How do you look upon the following:
Money
Success
Love
Wealth
Rich People
Take stock of your answers as they are telling you what feelings and emotions you have attributed to these concepts. If you felt any negative emotion at all, you’ve probably learned some negative connotations towards one or more of these aspects of life.
How To Remove Subconscious Blockages
One way to get clearer on your subconscious blockages is to listen to the way you speak, particularly about yourself. For a week, take particular notice of how you speak about yourself. What kinds of words do you use and how does it make you feel. Are you proud of yourself? Do you talk yourself up or down? Perhaps you avoid talking about yourself?
Listen for how other people talk about themselves too. These are keys to how people feel about themselves and what unconscious blockages they might have towards health, wealth, money, career and love.
How you see yourself is an important aspect and a major controlling “architect” of your life. Your self image is constantly reminding you of the person you think you are. Therefore, unless you start to see yourself in a different light, you’ll keep reflecting the same circumstances back to yourself repeatedly, no matter how hard you “try” on the outside or physical level of life.
Listen to yourself talk both out loud and inside your head for a week or two. Get to know how that inner voice works. Learn to meditate and become the “watcher” of your thinking, without entering into the dialogue with yourself. Just observe. If you do this for long enough and with consistently, you’ll create space to see yourself differently.
Affirmations
Once you’ve spent some time listening to your inner dialogue, you’ll probably notice some negativity there. This is your internal dialogue telling you what you can and can’t do, what you’re worth, or not worth, and basically how you see yourself and relate to the world. You’ll likely see some negative affirmations in there somewhere.
“I can’t do this..”
“If only this had worked out differently…”
“I didn’t have the best start in life…”
On and on it goes. This kind of self talk is damaging and limiting and is often based on a poor self image. To improve your self image you need to change the self sabotaging script to something else which is more encouraging and positive. Affirmations for what you want to achieve and what you can do are a good start.
We all use affirmations all the time in our heads. Unfortunately most people are using affirmations in a negative way – constantly undermining their self worth by telling a negative story about themselves.
