How I Used The Law Of Attraction To Become A Stuntman

This is a story of how I used the law of attraction to become a stuntman. It’s also a true story! Yep that’s me hanging from a helicopter over a castle in Wales in the UK with my trousers round my ankles. I’m doubling Jack Whitehall in his awesome film Bad Education.

When I got the call I had Lee Majors in mind when he hung from a helicopter. I don’t think his trousers were round his ankles though!

But let’s back up a little. A long time before this, I was sitting on the sofa watching James Bond movies with my Dad and brothers. I was always amazed by the way he escaped certain death. I was also a big fan of The A-Team too and particularly liked all the action. Who didn’t at that age!? I told my Dad I wanted to be an actor to which he replied “You don’t want to become an actor!”.

By the time I was a teenager, I was pretty heavily into the martial arts. Watching Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan films I become a big fan. I used to watch Bruce Lee films over and over again and rewind them to see the fight scenes and so I could replicate the moves.

Standing in my bedroom watching Bruce Lee in Fist Of Fury I would replicate his actions as he was fighting! I imagined fights in my mind, and found a few by doing so!

How I Used The Law Of Attraction To Become A Stuntman – The Trail Of Bruce Lee

Everyone around me was telling me to get a job by the time I was in my early 20’s. I had dropped out of education and felt lost and directionless. One thing I had was training in Karate and this seemed like the only thing which I really loved.

When I moved city I had switched martial arts styles a couple of times since I couldn’t find a Shotokan Karate school to continue my training. I wanted to know how Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan were so fast and fluid in their movements and nothing I was doing was really like the moves and techniques they did on screen. So far though I had only trained in Judo, Karate and Tae Kwon Do.

Little did I know but I had found a school which taught Bruce Lee’s original style of Wing Chun. Not only that, but my teacher was one of Ip Chun’s representatives – at the time, one of only 13 in the world regarded good enough to do so! Co-incidence or the law of attraction?

How I Used The Law Of Attraction To Become A Stuntman – Meeting A Stuntman

Bumming around after failing my A-level results I was looking for an opportunity larger than the typical low paid jobs I could find. I “up-skilled” whenever I could and had just got my bronze medallion lifesaving certificate in order to get a job as a lifeguard.

While chatting to another lifeguard he mentioned that his tae kwon do instructor was a stuntman! This moment changed everything because suddenly it became possible in my mind to do so. This was what I had been waiting and wishing for!

I went to meet his instructor and he told me everything I had to do to get qualified. In the UK there’s an extensive list of qualifications you need if you want to join the British Stunt Register.

I had no choice. I had to do it. Everything felt right and it was meant to be. I had already put a lot of intention towards, fighting, martial arts and had a passion for movies. I found out what I needed to do and set about doing it. This took a number of years to do however and wasn’t easy by any means. The main ingredient was my belief that it was the right course of action and I wanted to do it!

An Unstable Income

The stunt industry can be harsh. For two years after qualifying I was still driving taxis and in a lot of debt. My first job was on a film doubling Rhys Ifans hanging from a hot air balloon. After that I was expecting to get a call based on the previous job. Unfortunately for me, it didn’t work like that! I was back to driving!

This pattern continued and although I had several good years, work was always unreliable and sporadic.

In my late 30’s I realised that I needed to make some changes. I was working in a builders yard and making minimum wage; still waiting for the phone to ring! I had sacrificed a lot for this dream job, but it wasn’t working any more!

I started my own Kung Fu school in 2010 and still run four classes a week. In 2014 I started an online business to learn online marketing for my school.

I soon realised the huge potential in the online world and began to focus on this business.

Why An Online Business Beats Being A Stuntman

I originally started looking to the internet as a means to make a living several years earlier. I had tried many different strategies and techniques and found a business model known as affiliate marketing. With affiliate marketing, you can earn commissions based on sales of other people’s products.

It was originally something I could do in between the stunt work. Over time, I realised it had huge potential.

I was lucky enough to find an online business community which was genuine. I went to seminars and events and met the founders Stuart and Jay. If you want to make some changes in your life, take more control and learn the strategies of building an online business, check out the free video series on this website by signing up on the form below or at the side. That’s how I started, by signing up to some videos.

I still love the stunt work when it comes in. But now I can work on building more financial stability into life without the risk of injury or the instability of uncertain work patterns! Stay safe!

What is the law of attraction and how does it work? I definitely used the law of attraction during the years before I met a stuntman and a Wing Chun instructor. It can’t be coincidence! It was also a lot of passion and hard work though which made it possible to become a stuntman and a Wing Chun instructor.
